The Handmade Tile Clearance Studio Sale was a great success- thanks to all who came by. It was a delight to visit with you and see so many tiles going to good homes!

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement throughout the past 25 years of my artisan tile journey. I have enjoyed meeting you and exploring the joys of ceramic tile making.

If you'll be in Poulsbo, come by the Front Street Gallery: beautifully displayed work by 28 local artists working in media ranging from oil and watercolor painting, 3D assemblage, jewelry, printmaking, ceramics, wood turning, blown and fused glass, and fiber arts. We're open 7 days a week, 10am – 6 pm.

TINY TILES JEWELRY

An artist friend encouraged me to use my ceramic tile making techniques to explore the world of jewelry. These "tiny TILES" earrings and pendants are the result: handprinted with linoleum blocks and black underglaze with my unique geometric designs.
I am creating new "tiny TILES" for the Art in the Woods, the North Kitsap Studio Tour, in early November, Front Street Gallery, and PaulaGillArt Etsy shop.

This site is a collection of relief prints and handmade ceramic art tiles made by Paula Gill of Bremerton, Washington.

I've long been fascinated and charmed by the aesthetic printmaking. My first print was a 4 color linoleum block print I created when I was 18. Since then I have explored various methods of printmaking, from stone lithography and copper plate etching, to wood and linoleum block  printmaking. Relief printing is my current favorite method of printmaking, examples of which you'll see on this site

My tile work evolved out of my love of clay and printmaking and I've used techniques learned from both disciplines to create a unique body of artisan tiles. Each tile is hand formed, carved by hand; each is a one of a kind original, no molds are used. The tiles on this site celebrate trips to the coast, mountain rivers, and my love of botanicals- all of which are framed in black wood frames or set into mortar as mosaics, ready to hang.

On my RedStepStudio Etsy shop you'll find some of the tiles that are still available after my studio sale: handcarved tiles with garden, forest, and "road trip" themes, as well as tiles from the Healing with Nature, River, mosaics, and paper clay Wetlands series. Many are framed in black wood floater frames ready to hang.

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy browsing the site!       Paula Gill
