Inspired by the rugged Oregon coastline, "Squall" is an evocative exploration of the edges where humans and nature interact. Using unique Red Step Studio hand formulated underglazes, the images and colors are "painted" onto handmade white tiles with brushes, paint rollers and expired credit cards. Texture is created from found industrial patterned metal scraps and handcarved stamps. The surface has a matte, rough textured finish.
The finished tile composition measures 40"W x 24"H, and is composed of 15 – 8"x 8"x 3/8" separate tiles. Custom mounting brackets are attached to the back of each tile, screws are included for wall display.
